I’ve got this character rattling around in my head; his stories tend to bring me comfort, when all else fails.
This is a show that needs love that it’s really not getting right now. It’s like a kicked puppy - a really bizarre, sexy, kicked puppy. Okay that came out wrong but you get the idea.
Todd & the Book of Pure Evil is a show about a bunch of teenagers fighting evil because one of them is essentially the antichrist. It’s metal, and one of the most subversive shows I’ve ever fucking seen on television; really, the fact that they got away with two seasons of this genius is a goddamn modern miracle. Not to mention it’s funny as balls.
Basically; imagine Good Omens, Army of Darkness, and everyone hanging around the merch table at a local metal show having an orgy. Well… okay, don’t, but imagine their cumulative lovechild.
That lovechild is Book of Pure Evil.
By the way, if you’re in Canada, you can fucking WATCH THE SHOW FOR FREE on the Space website. I’m pretty sure they count the ratings from live streaming, and it slipped the network’s mind to renew this show for a third season.
